Bonhams Cars will offer the world's fastest road-going car, the 2022 Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+, at its Scottsdale Auction. Following Bugatti's groundbreaking achievement of surpassing 300mph, the Chiron Super Sport 300+ was introduced in a limited production of just 30 examples. This extraordinary feat marked the car as the first of its kind, elevating it to one of the most sought-after hypercars globally. With only eight cars delivered to the US in 2022, this will be the first time since its production to acquire a Super Sport 300+ publicly in America. The legendary car will be offered at The Scottsdale Auction on January 25 at an estimate of US$5,000,000-5,500,000.

It was 2019 when Bugatti garnered worldwide attention for this historic moment. Driven by former Le Mans-winner Andy Wallace, he pushed the prototype to maximum acceleration at an unprecedented 304.777 mph. Following this remarkable achievement, a limited production run was introduced in 2022, maintaining the sheer performance and remaining true to the elements of Bugatti's legacy. The sleek aero-efficient bodywork is bolstered by Bugatti's signature styling and highlighted by an eye-catching black and orange color scheme.

"This is the quintessence of hypercars. Bugatti has an unparalleled reputation in high-performance vehicles and the Chiron Super Sport 300+ is a symbol of that automotive excellence," commented Louis Frankel, Bonhams|Cars Specialist. "We look forward to witnessing the surge of excitement and attention this will undoubtedly achieve when we showcase it at our Scottsdale Auction."

The car offered is number 9 in the sequence and was supplied through Manhattan Motorcars in February 2023. It still boasts delivery mileage, as the Bugatti factory testing makes up the majority of the 255 miles on the odometer. The Chiron Super Sport 300+ represents a unique chapter in automotive history, and the upcoming auction presents a rare opportunity for a collector to be a part of this legacy.

Bonhams|Cars has presented some of the greatest Bugattis at auction. From the Type 55 Super Sport of the 1930s to the EB110SS of the 1990s, as well as the Veyron Super Sport, which is a direct predecessor to the Chiron Super Sport 300+. The Super Sport 300+ is matched by another exceptional Bugatti ancestor, its equivalent in the 1930s, a Type 57, that was rallied in period. The 1936 Type 57 Atalante Sunroof Coupe will also be presented at The Scottsdale Auction at an estimate of US$1,500,000-1,800,000.
