17-year-old Chloe Marshall was recently voted Miss Surrey, not only is she a stunning girl, she's also a plus-size model! For the first time ever, a size-16 has made it through to the last round of the beauty pageant. The boys in the Racecar Design Studio are currently working on Chloe's website - it seems to be taking a bit longer than usual!
Chloe says, “I wanted to go through to the Miss England finals to break the stereotype that you have to be tall and skinny to be considered beautiful; I want to show girls out there that real womanly beauty is curvy, not size-zero."
Unlike more impressionable young girls, Chloe has refused to bow to peer pressure to be thin. She says: “I didn’t give my figure a thought until my first day of secondary school, when I realised I was bigger than many other children, someone called me ‘fat’. I was stunned by the nastiness of it.“The bullies gave me horrible nicknames; I got called ‘Fatty’ and it hurt, and by the age of 13 I was already a C cup. My Mum used to comfort me and always said ‘You’re beautiful whatever size you are and never feel ashamed.’ Now I want to be an ambassador for teenagers who are plus sizes. I am not obese, I am not unhealthy. I eat well and go to the gym in Cranleigh nearly every day.
"I’m happy the way I am. I don't expect to win but just getting through to the finals is amazing."Chloe is naturally modest. But others have a lot of faith in her – she had a call for a screen test for a film being made by Empire Studios, produced by Danny Patrick. Chloe landed the role of Crystal, a nightclub hostess and gangster’s girlfriend. Her gangster boyfriend is Barry McGuigan (ex lightweight champion). Other actors in the movie are, Billy Boydd (Lord Of The Rings) Sarah Sunn ("Mandy from Hollyoaks") Colin Salmon (Die Another Day) Martin Kemp (The Krays and Eastenders) and Vinnie Jones.
Chloe says, “I really enjoyed the screen test; the Producer and the Casting Director were there. They told me they were looking for a tall curvaceous girl to act alongside Barry McGuigan - he is 5ft 3 and I'm 5ft 10!!”
