KCMG begins Nürburgring campaign at NLS 2

KC Motorgroup Ltd. (KCMG) is set to finally race at the Nordschleife in 2021 this weekend for the second round of the Nürburgring Langstrecken Serie, following the cancellation of the season opener.

The Hong Kong-based squad, in its second year with Porsche, is taking on selected rounds of the NLS season in preparation for the Nürburgring 24 Hours, although adverse weather conditions caused the pre-season test and first round to be called off.

Since the curtailed NLS 1, KCMG has completed two successful tests at the Nordschleife in an attempt to recover lost track time ahead of the N24, with all four drivers enjoying strong mileage and trouble-free running, gathering plenty of data at the same time.

The drivers will split duties for NLS 2 and 3, with Edoardo Liberati and Marco Holzer taking the wheel this weekend, before Alex Imperatori and Josh Burdon share the Porsche 911 GT3 R on May 1.

The team is looking to collect more data as it builds towards the N24, with hopes for a strong result at the Green Hell on Saturday.

EDOARDO LIBERATI
“After two very productive test days, we’re ready to face our first challenge of the season this weekend with NLS 2. The aim is to get a strong result and continue collecting data to help us as a team. I’m enjoying my time in the car and I’m excited to take on this incredible track in a race again.”

MARCO HOLZER
“Finally the long wait is over and we go back to racing this weekend. I’m really looking forward to my first race with KCMG at this incredible circuit. Due to NLS 1 being called off we have less track time ahead of the N24, which means we will need to collect as much data as possible, while also competing for a strong result.”

MATT HOWSON TEAM MANAGER
“After the disappointing cancellation of NLS 1, we have been more fortunate during testing, gathering valuable data. NLS 2 will be our first race of the season and we still have a lot more to learn, but we're gathering strength and experience at every event in order to be in the best possible position for the N24.”

PAUL IP KCMG FOUNDER
“It was a shame to see NLS 1 cancelled, but the team has been working really hard in testing to make up for the lost track time. We have two great drivers in the car this weekend with Edo and Marco, so I believe we can be competitive and achieve some success as we continue to prepare for the N24.”
