Sopwith Camel flies in to Stow Maries

A WW1 Sopwith Camel will fly in to Stow Maries aerodrome today - pilot will have to demonstrate a bit of judgement and skill!

Racecar built the Stow Maries Aerodrome web site  - and having been to the place - we have to say it is a breathtaking project. Today with this Sopwith Camel flying in to it's spiritual home - and the owners recently getting planning permission to restore the WW1 airfield to it's former glory - it's an exciting time for all involved with the Aerodrome.

Oldest Sopwith Camel flies in today!

The oldest Sopwith Camel will be arriving on site at the Stow Maries Aerodrome today Tuesday 23rd June 2009 @ 12:45 - 12:50pm. Visitors are welcome.

This is the first time a Sopwith Camel would have flown into Stow Maries in approx 90 years or so. Press and TV for the local area will be on site ready to report live and interview the pilot after his flight in.
