Royal Visit at Team Modena Group

HRH Prince Andrew, the Duke of York, visited the High Wycombe HQ of the Team Modena Group of companies on the morning of Tuesday 23rd January, in his role as the UK's Special Representative for International Trade and Investment. His hour-long visit included discussions on a forthcoming trade mission to South Korea that will feature high-tech automotive concepts from within the Team Modena Group.

Greeted on arrival by a host of dignitaries including Sir Henry Aubrey-Fletcher, the Lord Lieutenant of Buckinghamshire, the Duke spent the first part of his visit in talks with Modena management, who outlined their contribution to the trade mission. From there they toured the building, including the Lamborghini Service Centre, the first independent European centre to be fully licensed by Lamborghini, and also spent time examining the Aston Martin DBR9 race car that Team Modena took to ninth overall in the 2006 Le Mans 24-Hour race.

"We were honoured to have his Highness the Duke of York visit us and pleased he was so interested in our projects," said Modena Managing Director Graham Schultz. "He was extremely knowledgeable and some of his insights will allow us to take our ideas forward.

"It's been a big day for the Team Modena Group, and it is pleasing that the Duke seemed to enjoy his time with us, especially his tour of the Lamborghini Service Centre."

The Team Modena Group includes Lamborghini Wycombe, Modena GT supercar service specialists - and the Team Modena race outfit who will be contesting a number of motorsport campaigns in 2007 including an intended return to Le Mans in June.

Modena have a reputation for their engineering skills, the head of their design team being a respected former Formula One designer, and they have already undertaken a number of confidential feasibility studies for motor manufacturers looking to embark on global motorsport programmes.
