Legends grids closing on 30 entries apiece with more announcements

Packed grids of quality as well as quantity are guaranteed for both the Legends Cars Championship with MRF Tyres and the all-new Legends Cars Elite Cup with JLM this year, with the latest driver announcements taking the entry lists up towards 30 competitors for each category.
Multiple race winner Connor Mills (Upminster), who last competed in Legends Cars back in 2020 where he took three victories, is set to contest both categories. Mills, who began his career in the ranks of Formula Ford, first became a winner in Legends back in 2017 and will surely be a front-running challenger for each title even though he’s been away from action for a couple of years.
Making the journey over the Irish Sea to take part in the Legends Cars Elite Cup, which will support three British Touring Car Championship events, will be a triple entry run by former Legends Cars Rookie class runner-up, and four-time Irish Legends Cars Champion, Paul O’Brien.
Racing brothers Peter Barrable (Swords) and Robert Barrable (Dublin) will be joined by Declan Burke (Cashel) in the POB Racing squad. Burke, who has 20 years of experience from the world of Short Oval racing made his bow in Legends at Mondello Park in Ireland last year.
Peter Barrable has achieved good success in single-seaters and saloons, a multiple race winner in British Formula Ford 1600 and a two-time Irish Supercar Champion. He started racing Legends in Ireland in 2020, where he holds three lap records.
Robert Barrable raced in Formula Ford in the late noughties before switching to rallying in 2010, going on to compete at the highest level in the European Rally Championship, Intercontinental Rally Challenge and the FIA World Rally Championship. This year he will dovetail his involvement in the Legends Cars Elite Cup with a season in the Irish Tarmac Rally Championship.
Racing in the Legends Cars Championship and the Elite Cup will be welcome returnee Lenny Woodcock (Chichester), a vastly experienced Stunt Coordinator and Head Rigger in the film industry, and Matt Knight (Shoreham by Sea) who has experience in Legends north of the border.
Short Oval star Nick Price (March) will debut by tackling both Legends Cars categories, having raced Grand Prix Midgets for the past four years. Last season was the highlight of his career to date, Price becoming Points Champion, World Champion, European Champion and British Champion!
Also debuting in Legends Cars in 2023 and competing in both the Championship and the Elite Cup will be Rookie class drivers Andrew Rogerson (Maidenhead) and Tyler Read (Weedon), who will each be fielding self-run entries.
Rogerson started racing in 2014 and the following year became the class and overall champion in MG ZR saloon cars. Due to a lack of funds he stepped away from action but returned to the track in 2020 in some Enduro Ka and CSCC events, piloting Jaguars and Porsches in the latter. In addition to his Legends Cars commitments this year, he will also partake in several KZ Gearbox Karting events.
Teenage racer Read made the move into cars last year in Legends on the Ovals, after a strong karting career at British and European Championship level. The 19-year-old engineer, who became a race winner in his maiden Oval season, is now ready to step-up to the circuits with a family run car and mount a challenge for the Rookie crown.

Cadwell Park in Lincolnshire will host the first two rounds of the 2023 Legends Cars Championship with MRF Tyres on 15th/16th April. The all-new Legends Cars Elite Cup with JLM will commence over the weekend 6th/7th May at Brands Hatch Indy Circuit in Kent, alongside the BTCC.
